Class by class, you will learn the techniques and concepts necessary to understand and correctly apply shibari.
To achieve this, we follow the guidelines of Yagami Ryu, which focuses on teaching students the technical fundamentals, so that, later on, each person can develop in the direction that suits their own interests or circumstances.
In this way, we dedicate each lesson of the course to one concept or technique, allowing the student to concentrate solely on assimilating that specific technique or idea and immediately applying it to their erotic experience.
This is the best way to understand the usefulness of the knowledge we share in the course. Obviously, we start with simple teachings and increase the complexity step by step.
In order to progress, it is necessary to understand and assimilate the previous steps. Otherwise, if we move forward without solidifying the foundations, we will introduce elements of risk into our shibari practice.
Therefore, the course is designed with a learning curve that starts slow but accelerates as the fundamentals are assimilated.
In the early lessons, we work with very basic concepts that require time to be fully understood and develop the necessary skills for their safe and efficient application, so that, as each student solidifies their skills, we can dedicate future lessons to more complex forms and techniques.
CLASS 0: Assessment and Personalization
If you enroll on the course in the "complete course" mode, you will have this extra class, where, in addition to explaining the general course structure and methodology, the instructors will learn about your interests, current knowledge and experience, as well as the time availability for practice.
Based on this information, they will be able to design a training program tailored to your circumstances.
CLASS 1: Basic Concepts
In this class, we establish the foundation for the training, by identifying and defining a series of concepts and terms that you may already be familiar with, but which may have a different meaning in the context of erotic shibari.
CLASS 2: Technical Fundamentals
One of the characteristics of Yagami Ryu is that it focuses on learning a set of technical fundamentals, that can be freely combined to create an almost limitless number of technical applications.
In the second class, we will explore these fundamentals, with which each student will build their own shibari style, breaking down complex processes into simpler ones that allow you to progress steadily and at your own pace.
CLASS 3: Management and Handling
Once the technical fundamentals of each of the three areas of study are known, we will begin to see how to combine them in the most efficient way possible.
We will move from "doing" to "achieving," from repeating simple techniques and processes to connecting them with a purpose, seeking a result, with a full understanding of what we are doing, knowing the options available, and how to integrate all of this into our erotic experience.
CLASS 4: Forms and Figures
The Yagami Ryu has no canonical forms or figures.
However, certain forms or katas are used to understand, in a practical and direct way, how to apply the techniques and their effects.
CLASS 5: Applying the Technique
Performing the forms and figures safely and efficiently is only the first step within Yagami Ryu.
There is much more knowledge to be discovered in order to ensure that all of this technique is successfully integrated into each individual's erotic experience.
1:1 Consultation
The true heart of the course lies in the live 1:1 consultations (online), where we explain, supervise, and, most importantly, adapt the technique so that you can apply it with safety and efficiency.
Each module or lesson corresponds to a consultation lasting about 2 hours, depending on both the content covered and the specific needs of each student.
It is important to follow the order of the lessons and modules, as the teachings in each module build on previous concepts and techniques.
We recommend spacing these sessions at least one month or 45 days apart to allow for real and beneficial assimilation of the techniques and skills learned in the previous class.
A key part of our teaching focuses on manual skills that require practice and repetition to be fully developed.
We understand that it’s not always easy, and sometimes not even possible, to have the time and conditions necessary for practice.
Therefore, you have up to 18 months to schedule the 5 classes, allowing you to progress at your own pace.
Dynamics of the Consultations
No matter what time zone you are in, we work around your availability as much as possible.
Ideally, both of you should review supporting material for each lesson/module at least once.
You will then contact us to schedule the consultation.
We will find a time and date that works for both of you and outline the general issues to be covered during the meeting.
You will receive an email with a link to the online platform shortly before the scheduled time.
There is no need to install anything, just give your permission for the camera and microphone. You can access from a phone, computer or tablet.
We recommend a good screen and the best possible connection.
The courses are tailored to your level of knowledge and experience, and you will have lifetime access to the online material.
