Koden Takate Kote Shibari, or simply "koden", is the foundational form traditionally used to introduce the techniques studied in Yagami Ryu.
Meaning of the Name
Its role as the “first teaching” is reflected in its name, which can be translated as "old-style restraint." This emphasizes the importance of time-honored techniques and demonstrates respect for tradition and those who came before us.
The form draws inspiration from ancient martial arts, particularly those that evolved into what is now commonly known as Hojo Jutsu.
Important: This form is a modern application developed for erotic shibari. It is not an “ancient” martial arts technique. In this context, hojo-jutsu serves as an umbrella term for a broad set of knowledge drawn from various sources and traditions.
