A jovial Japanese rigger, born May 20, 1975, in Kanagawa Prefecture. He has managed to blend classic and modern concepts into a style all his own, the Tenma-ryu (天馬流), which explicitly separates kinbaku from sadomasochism and steers it toward the emotional connection between two people.
He is very close to Yagami Ren's style and philosophy, sharing his passion for function over decoration, summed up in his own maxim: "Every rope has a purpose."
Before taking the name Tenma Haru, he went by the alias Goku early on.
In January 2013, he joined the staff at Zone, a venue in Yokohama, and on March 1, 2014, he founded his own kinbaku salon, Genso Nawa Kai (幻想縄会), also in Yokohama.
Since then, the salon has served as a meeting, training, and practice space: classes for all levels, an open salon for free practice, private sessions, space rentals, and a steady lineup of special events.
Career and Events
Since 2013, his track record has been extensive, with performances at landmark venues such as DESIRE, DX Kabukicho, Kawasaki BOTTOMS UP, Theater POO, HYPE (Nagoya), DOUBLE (Kanazawa), Studio T's, MK Studio, and SARU (Nagoya), among others.
He has taken part in events like "Onawa Asobi," "Next Generation of Supernova Bud," "The Loop of Five Ropes," "Bondage Sengoku Era," "Bondage EXPO Japan," and "Erotikava's Nawa Blessing Festival in Chiba."
Audiovisual Work
During the pandemic, he focused on producing content for the adult audiovisual industry, most notably the film Steamy Heaven And Hell - The Inn Of Passionate Bondage - The Best Hits Collection Vol.2 Visions Of Bondage Chapter One, where he shares scenes with Nonoka Sato, Momona Aino, Mihina Azu, and Suzu Yamai.
Recent Performances and Collaborations
In April 2022, during the Nawaten festival at the Erotikava bar in Chiba, he performed live kinbaku alongside his regular scene partner, Yuka Tsubasa (翼裕香), recreating the theme of "Beauty and the Beast." The video is available on YouTube.
That May, he took part in Design Festa vol. 55, and in April he co-organized the event "San-nin no Nawa Kai" (三人の縄会) alongside Doyama Tesshin and Ren Yagami. In September 2022, he participated in the Nawaten Festival and a photo session organized by Van Associates. In October, he launched the special event "Otokojuku" (男塾) and the fourth edition of his women-only event.
In the summer of 2023, he starred alongside Ren Yagami in the live broadcast "Exclusives: Yagami and Tenma's Talk" on FC2.
On August 11, 2024, he took part in an event organized by Arcadia Tokyo in the basement of the Spiral building in Omotesando, sharing the bill with Kamijo Saki, Ren Yagami, Aotsuki Nagare, and Doyama Tesshin — a gathering of the biggest names in hard SM rope. The next day, he co-organized and commentated Kokonawa 2.
International Reach
Like the rest of the "new generation" of Japanese riggers, his international footprint is built on his regional base: thriving cities across China, Taiwan (tied to adult-industry festivals), South Korea, Thailand, and Oceania.
In October 2024, he traveled to Taiwan for a series of events at Salon Isshion (一紫苑) in Taipei. On the 11th, he taught the workshop "Tenma Style TK" (天馬流後手縛), and on the 12th he delivered a shibari performance followed by an exclusive nawakai for attendees, with Sora as his assistant and Chinese translation provided by Miss Lina, his local student.
Online Teaching
In 2026, he launched his online course, Tenma Style, via Zoom, aimed at an Asian audience and focused especially on gote-shibari and leg ties.
This model includes periodic in-person classes in Taiwan to reinforce the learning.
He is a regular at events organized by Marie Aoi, particularly the Coco Ropes, which he runs alongside Yagami Ren.
Notes on the Tenma-ryu
The Tenma-ryu stands out for a teaching approach that prioritizes understanding over imitation.
"The hallmark of Tenma-ryu isn't chasing complex techniques, but making every rope meaningful and every tension understandable. It doesn't just teach you how to tie — it guides you to grasp the forces at play, tension control, the logic of the rope, and why you tie the way you do. Once you understand the principle, every rope goes on more stable, safer, and more adaptable to different bodies and interactions."
Gote-shibari is the pedagogical core of the style.
Miss Lina, the official translator of the courses into Chinese and a Tenma-ryu student, explains:
"The gote is truly one of the keys that shapes many things, including the quality of later suspensions. At the same time, it lets you thoroughly practice the basics of knots, closures, and locks. Every school has its own way of doing the gote."
The pricing structure at the Genso Nawa Kai salon in Yokohama is as follows: salon participation, 6,000 yen for men and 3,000 yen for women; beginner-level classes, 6,000 yen; intermediate level, 8,000 yen; female models, free (with a 1,000-yen voucher for the salon).
Private sessions run 30,000 yen for 2.5 hours. Group classes range from 40,000 to 50,000 yen for groups of two or three.
