Yagami Ryu is the community of instructors and students who practice the style of shibari developed by the Japanese master Yagami Ren.
It currently includes students, instructors and dojos in various countries in Europe and Asia.
This style is known as sekibaku and is characterized by its focus on satisfying erotic desire through the rational application of technique.
Shibari Dojo | Escuela de Shibari is the official Yagami Ryu dojo in Spanish, led by Sr. Interior, an authorized instructor of this practice.
Although it is an organized system, sekibaku is a relatively “young” style of shibari, still evolving, with each dojo contributing to shape its future.
The ryu is structured into ranks, similar to traditional Japanese martial arts, with each rank being certified by an official diploma. There is a distinction between "students" and "instructors", where instructors can certify students. However, only Yagami Ren himself can certify instructors.
It is necessary to "pass an exam" to become certified, but studying the style does not require certification, nor is it mandatory to take an exam.
At Yagami Ryu, anyone who approaches shibari with curiosity and honesty is always welcome.
Due to the adaptability and personalization inherent in this style, each instructor offers their own model and approach within the overall framework of the ryu.
At Shibari Dojo, we focus our teaching on individuals and on adapting techniques to make them accessible to everyone. Unlike other dojos, we independently certify both those who tie and those who are tied, as we believe that the knowledge and active participation of each role are equally important and should be valued accordingly.
